Analysing It scene

Image
P erformance The performance in this scene is really good and their is a contrast between how the little boy acts compared to the clown. The little boy in this acts happy about the boat and enjoys playing in the rain until his boat goes down the drain, he gets annoyed but then when he sees the clowns it shocks and scares him because he doesn't expect it. But as they talk the boy starts to feel more comfortable taking to the clown even though he is a stranger and starts to have jokes and laugh along with the clown. The boy comes across as a fun boy who just wants to enjoy himself. The clown acts really strange and scary but he try's to act joyful and happy in front of the boy to try and make him be his friend. This has a contrast with how clowns really come across in horror film they are meant to act scary. The performance creates a meaning in your head that the clown is really not trying to be his friend and also that he knows his and his brothers name that the boy doesn...

Halloween Opening sequence. How is meaning created?

Performance The meaning is created in the opening sequence by the the performance of the child which implies that it is a dark opening also it puts a sense of fear and on edge by the way the sequence is played. This puts the audience on edge because as the boy picks the knife up the audience have a sense of fear in them because it comes across as their is a death going to happen. Also the couple are performing is normal and they are just enjoying their time together which makes the death that more shocking. The performance by the parents is different the father try's to comfort the little boy but on the other hand the mother just stands still and puts her hand in her pockets which implies that she doesn't care and looks not that bothered.      Lighting The lighting in this sequence is dark and only a lamp on which suggest that their is a sense of fear in this part also it shows that their is naturalistic lighting. The lighting is very dim which comes across as scary i...
