While Trainspotting was being filmed Thatcherism and the aftermath of Thatcher being prime minister had a massive effect of how people live their lives and it had a higher demand on what people wanted. Thatcher thought that the government shouldn't own all the businesses and that their should be private owners that should run the businesses which help make more determined people succeed in life and the less determined people will not succeed which at the time had a positive and negative effect on certain people, Thatchers policy is still spoken about today which shows that her policy is really important for the way that England is run today.
